Simon C. Garretson military appointments 1821-1824

This collection consists of two certificates appointing Simon C. Garretson (or Simeon C. Garrison) to the ranks of Ensign and Captain in the 64th Regiment of the New York State Militia. The first certificate, dated 1821, is signed by Governor DeWitt Clinton, while the second certificate, dated 1824, is signed by Governor Joseph C. Yates.
